What are the GRETAs?
The GRETAs (Guelph Recognition of Excellence in The Arts) is an annual gala and presentation event to celebrate Guelph's artistic community and the many extraordinary achievements from the previous calendar year. The first GRETAs celebration will be February 28th, 2027.
RECOGNIZE
a celebration of artistic excellence
The GRETAs will celebrate and recognize extraordinary accomplishments in the many artistic disciplines happening right here in our vibrant city.
We will spend an evening acknowledging the overwhelmingly positive impact that artists, arts volunteers and arts organizations have on our way of life.
ENGAGE
inspire and connect artists with the community
The GRETAs will also serve to re-engage the citizens of Guelph in the arts. The city has a long history of support for the arts and this has noticeably changed since the COVID pandemic. Bringing artists and fans together under one roof will reinvigorate the city to see that we are still an accomplished, active, artistic community.
FUND
boosting artists through financial support
This will also be a pathway to funding the arts. The event itself will be a fundraiser for the Guelph Arts Council Grant Programs. Through sponsorships, ticket sales, 50/50 and in-event donations, the GRETAs will be the flagship fundraising event for the organization and the granting programs the GAC supports.
